Here are samples of my charcoal & pastel portraits. I work with soft pastels using a workable fixative to work in layers so I can build up the textures & keep the under layers from becoming flat & muddy. I love to catch the mood of the person, that certain look in their eyes, I look inside and capture the person's spark. I am very good at rendering the individual likeness of a face, the shape of the nose and eyes.

Animals are so very expressive, the devotion of love and trust is on the tip of their tongue and in the look in their eyes. When I paint my animal portraits I bring this quality to the forefront that makes each animal within a breed standout as individual as each and every one of them truly are.
