"Sculpting has a very calming effect on me. As my hands work the clay, my imagination overtakes me. The clay seems to take shape by itself. An idea is coming through and I smile. The melody of the colors sing to me. I feel the texture of the fabrics start to move. What happens next is a harmonious waltz with my dolls. When the dance is done the results are always different. Whether by design or a happy accident you can see what fun I have."

When my journey into dollmaking began I wanted to keep track of the progress as my work changed and as I gained more knowledge and fine tuned my skills. I sign and number all my dolls and logg them into my "doll book". The first dolls were draw on the page with their number. Then I began to photograph them for a more accurate record. Each group, Santas, witches, wizards, jesters, chubby fairies and the rest are all in my book. It amazes me every time I look through it and see where I started and how far I have progressed with my work. This keeps me rooted and ever wanting to exceed with my next idea in the making.
